Zindagi Trust having provided primary education to working children in the last 8 years has now expanded the scope where the successful graduates will acquire secondary education.
19 million children in Pakistan cannot afford school. Some of them are so poor that they cannot afford to go to school even if it were free. They spend their days working in the streets, as food vendors, cleaners, car mechanics, etc. Our "Educating 2800 child workers" project brings such children to school for a primary education programme, but it doesn't guarantee them a better job nor a facility to continuing education upon graduation.
This project will sponsor the secondary education of those graduates of the primary education programme for child workers who have shown promise during their 2.2 years of primary schooling. All their major expenses from attendance fees to books will be met by Zindagi Trust and their progress will be followed closely. This will give an opportunity to those students with the desire and aptitude for higher education to be able to achieve their dreams and make a real investment in their future.
