Summary
The project proposes to supply Goats for 500 women headed poor dalit families. Each women would be supplied with 2 pairs of goats @ US$ 150 for the livelihood promotion of their families.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Women headed families of our rural area are suffering for regular income to eakout a living. Since these women have to earn for food, education, health and other needs for their children, parents and in-laws all the beneficiary women are agricultural daily wage earners who could earn in an average of US $1 at the most in a day. This meager wage is absolutely insufficient to meet their needs. There fore an additional income is necessitated to give minimum calories of food for their dependents
How will this project solve this problem?
By providing Goats to the excluded women, each of them will be earning at least US$ 320 per year. This earning would be spent on providing food for the family members, educating their children and for medical expenses. They, could buy more goats.
Potential Long Term Impact
This project will provide additional income for 500 families which would be resulting in higher education, improved health status and sustainable income for the families through stable living without migration.
Project Message
If we are given Goats to earn additional income, paucity of our family will be reduced. We will acquire self confidence dignity and self respect to our children and family members.
