Summary
Empowering poor rural Disabled women and mothers with disabled children by providing micro credit as small as $250 to start their own business to support the disabled child as well as caring for him
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
We work with 1500 beneficiaries who are disabled spread out in three Revenue Units of a District. Most of these people live with less than $1 per day.We have identified 500 women who are capable of starting a small business to support their disabled child or are disabled themselves. With a small amount as less as $250 they can start their own small entreprise to get out of their chronic poverty and earn $3-4 per day. While caring for the child the mother also brings income to the family.
How will this project solve this problem?
Training disabled children to manage their own affairs
Training parents of disabled children to take care of them.
Skills training for disabled girls or mothers of disabled children in sewing , computer or small business.
Potential Long Term Impact
We will find 500 differently able persons running their own business with confidence.
Their income will move up from $ 1 to $ 3-5
The project will bring equal status and dignity
Ensures better quality of life and dignity.
