Mother's Day is May 13. We offer a way to honor her or remember her in a special way this year. Why not give a gift in remembrance of mother's generosity? At the same time, you will be helping to overcome gaps in access to health care and medicines in today's world.
Thanks to Global Giving, you can make a donation in your mother's name to our project to provide much-needed emergency surgical medicine to La Mascota Children's Hospital in Managua, Nicaragua. Global Giving offers e-cards and print-at-home cards, making your donation to Surgeons of Hope the perfect Mother's Day gift. Contribute to our project by using this link which will take you directly to the spot where you select your card:

We are very close to our project goal on this project, thanks to the generosity of our Global Giving community and their understanding of how very necessary this medicine is in an emergency situation of a spike in blood pressure which can occur following open-heart surgery in an infant or child. A supply of nitroprusside is essential to bring the little patient's blood pressure under control so that healing can occur.
Please help us to reach our goal (we are only $140 away) and celebrate your mother's care at the same time. The sweet little girl whose photo accompanies this report was operated upon in Nicaragua by our all-volunteer medical team from Children's Hospital of Colorado. A few days later she was back with her family, and is continuing to thrive today. If she could say "Gracias" in person, she would.
Please give to our Mother's Day effort through Global Giving and spread the word to your friends and communities. We are a small organization, so your help will help.
