Hello from Friends of Humanity! After almost 10 months, we here at Friends of Humanity are happy to report that the Alice School project in Uttar Pradesh, India is continuing to progress. our project is committed to continue providing a comprehensive education to these underpriveledged children and ameliorating thier daily life.
121 students still are attending the Alice School with 62 boys and 59 girls. Of the students, 34 are 3-6 years old, 63 are 7-10, and 24 are 11-14. Seven qualified, local instructors still teach for the school. Students are taught Hindi, English, Science, Math, and History, and in conformity with Buddhist tradition, allotted time for meditation daily. Unfortunately, due to lack of funding and consequentially available space, 30 new students had to be turned away this year.
Our aspirations for the future remain ambitious. Friends of Humanity would like to raise enough funds to do the following:
Our project has been generating a lot of local solidarity in the community and the the Alice School project continues to recieve support from local authorities.
We look forward to your continuing support of our projects and our committment to helping change the world.
