The women were said to have been on the streets for months now. Ambulances were speeding up and down the streets carrying girls who were bleeding profusely. I was informed that the girls were passing through a rite of passage when the members of teh NGO invaded the ritual area. The police who were with the women arrested and apprehended two main circumcisers. This bravery of the women lead to a half of the ritual practice in the area. Read more.
