Our purpose in developing "Kicks for Kids Field" is to offer a unique opportunity for at-risk youth to play soccer by constructing the first youth field of its kind at a Major League Soccer facility.
Through "Kicks for Kids Field," we hope to engage neighborhood children and Columbus’ two inner-city soccer programs with a well-supervised location for fitness, soccer education and fun. The field project would offer children access to leagues, tournaments and soccer clinics with Crew players and coaches that they might not otherwise have been able to enjoy.
Participating children would enjoy the unique opportunity to engage in league and unstructured play, tournaments and soccer clinics with Crew players and coaches.
The field would allow us to provide field access to approximately 1,500 children each year through our partnerships with more than 200 non-profit child-focused organizations.
