Greetings!
Dear GlobalGiving Friends,
Spring has arrived in the mountainous town of Khe Sanh, and our young friends are having a great time with their classes and reading. Close to 1,000 books circulate weekly between Khe Sanh Main and Pa Nho Satellite Schools with 760 young students enjoying reading daily.
In early March, the children invited some American friends and shared time with them. The American veterans also came to see how the town has changed and noted the better educational opportunities of this generation.
“It seems that since GCSF started the library project in this remote place, we receive more foreign visitors. The children enjoy making new friends and love to practice speaking English with them. The English learned from books and the cassette player can now be put to use, and they feel so excited.” shared Ms. Huong, Principal of Khe Sanh Primary School.
GCSF is committed to helping more children obtain a better education, and a library provides a good foundation. Our goal over the next few months is the addition of a mobile library to bring books to 400 tribal students in the nearby communes.
A library can open the world to the local children and expand their minds. Please join hands with us to help the disadvantaged children in the region receive the benefit of free academic books.
Sincerely,
Nguyen Xuan Tam and the GCSF team in Vietnam
