By Sally Korkin | Executive Director, Cedar Village Foundation
As the only elder abuse shelter in the Midwest, Cedar Village continues to spearhead the initiative to raise awareness about the prevalence of elder abuse and the need to keep victims safe from harm.
Recently, Cedar Village was able to provide a newly arriving victim with clothing as she came into the building with nothing but the clothes on her back. Never before had she been simply given something for free. Never had she been treated with the kindness and respect she so rightfully deserved!
With ongoing therapy, counseling and loving support, we have already seen a drastic improvement in her health and wellbeing.
It's through generous donations and warm hearts that Cedar Village is able to provide not only a safe haven, but the additional amenities so many of these people need.
