KEEN LA is volunteer-led organization that provides one-to-one recreational opportunities for children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities at no cost to their families.
The mission of KEEN is to provide opportunities allowing children with disabilities to participate in athletics, which would be otherwise unavailable and impossible without 1 on 1 coaching from trained volunteers. KEEN provides these services free of charge because parents of these children deal with a significant financial burden. Together, trained volunteers and free programs allow these families and their children an opportunity that would not otherwise exist.
KEEN LA provides children with autism, cerebral palsy, down syndrome or other disabilities the opportunity to play, shoot hoops, kick a soccer ball, bowl, swim or dance with help from volunteer coaches.
KEEN LA provides kids with disabilites the opportunity to exercise and socialize with their peers. KEEN LA also provides community members leadership opportunities and a chance to volunteer.
