Bring Well Being & Education to Children Globally

Focusing on youth literacy, expression and social integration, this comprehensive project provides access to books, reading, school support and other educational activities to more than 1,000 children, many of which are isolated by remote distances and gang activity. To provide uninterrupted nutrition services to more than 130 children from the Garifuna community of Tornabe, this program was born upon witnessing that around 90% of children were suffering from malnourishment, which directly affected their academic performance. The PIO School Program is the foundation of their work, providing access to education from kindergarten through ninth grade to more than 650 students at the SMC and BK schools. A well-fed and nourished child is a healthy child who can adapt to the surrounding environment in order to properly learn and mature. For that reason, Los Patojos has established an after school lunch program benefitting more than 100 children; each month, more than a 1,000 lunches are served to the children in this project.
