Summary
To help mothers generate income and to promote self-sufficiency by developing important professional skills.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Some mothers need social assistance, guidance, material and technical skills to make them competitive professionals. Once these mothers become professionals, they will be able to get into the formal job market and generate income. We will offer 160 vacancies for several courses: hairdressing, manicure, painting on material, sewing, and computer courses. This project is meant to last for one year.
How will this project solve this problem?
To professionalize courses for 160 mothers. The courses include theoretical notions, demonstration, and on-the-job training. Acquisition of sewing equipment: machines, material for everyday use, and kits for the graduates.
Potential Long Term Impact
To help bring mothers into the formal job market.
Project Message
I grew up amid poverty in a slum in Rio de Janeiro and saw no light at the end of the tunnel. Now, having to face my son’s disease, I see hope because of Renascer’s professionalizing project.
