In October 2012, elders from Cedar Village will embark upon an Interfaith Mission to Israel in partnership with another retirement community. Not only will this Mission demonstrate that you are never too old to learn, build bridges and gain understanding, but will also share the transformative message of tolerance and respect within our organization, our community and beyond.
The need to promote world peace is greater than ever. If we want future generations to live safely and happily, we must build bridges of understanding and tolerance, one person at a time.
The Interfaith Mission will truly build bridges of understanding and inspire others to do the same. It will demonstrate that connection, learning, and tolerance are possible for all of us. If an 85 year old can open his mind and broaden his horizon, there is every reason to believe that the rest of us can do the same.
The potential impact of demonstrating what older adults can do, the leadership they can show and the example they can set is worldwide. This Mission will inspire similar efforts in many other places and light a real flame for tolerance and understanding.
