YoungArts is the core program of the National Foundation for Advancement in the Arts (NFAA). The program's mission is to identify emerging artists, provide educational enrichment and assistance in their pursuit of the arts, and to raise the appreciation for, and support of, the arts in American society. In 2011, NFAA celebrates its 30th anniversary year of discovering excellence in the arts.
Created to ensure the future of American art by identifying and nurturing exceptionally gifted high school seniors, NFAA is the only organization in the United States that provides a variety of programs and monetary awards to support students in all art disciplines. Your contribution to YoungArts helps us create experiences for students that last a lifetime – moving America’s most talented young artists a little closer to their dreams.
Each year, approximately 7,000 students register for the YoungArts program. Approximately 500 receive monetary awards, and national finalists share a total benefit package valued at $1 million including an all-expenses paid trip to Miami, Florida for workshops, master classes, performance and exhibition opportunities, networking and more.
For over 29 years, NFAA has honored and awarded more than 13,000 young American artists with $6.4 million in monetary awards and $80 million in college scholarship opportunities.
