Training in the embroidery arts of "zari" and "zardosi" will pave the way to economic sustenance for the women of the remote village of Holtikotti.
Vocational training sessions in the embroidery arts of "zari" and "zardosi" will pave the way for economic sustenance for the women of the village of Holtikotti. Holtikotti is located in a remote area with little means of access to the main market. Women with enough zari and zardosi skills can find direct access to the main market instead of going through brokers and middlemen, who often subject them to economic and sexual exploitation.
"Zari" and "zardosi" training courses for 30 village women so that they may sell their work in the market.
Vocational training will not only prevent migration and create economic sustenance for the women who receive training, but will also pave the way to economic and social development for the entire village.
"Vocational training is being imparted on a daily basis and the women are now getting ready with a catalogue of their designs so that they may take orders from the market." - Project Leader, Nirnaya
