We are really excited for the new direction of our nutrition program this year with vegetable and protein supplements to enhance diets of malnourished children and know that it will make a huge impact on the villages of Ho. This is especially true given that over 50% of deaths past early infancy can be contributed to malnutrition, specifically Protein Energy Malnutrition.1 Our project started out with introducing soya beans and their benefits and then giving mothers access to and teaching them about soya beans. Our next goal is to help children vary their diet so that it includes vegetables and fruits in addition to protein supplements.
Our nutrition program, which has been running for almost four years has had a lot of success, but funding is crucial to help keep it running. With the last match day of the year coming up on October 19th, every donation and dollar really counts! Please help us continue to help the children of Ghana; as our members who visited this summer saw, they are truly amazing children who deserve to lead healthy lives and have access to countless opportunities that only we can make possible! Thank you again for your continued support of the H.O.P.E Center and GlobeMed.
