Horizon is a Non profit Organization based in Hargeisa -Somaliland. It has been established in early 2007 by a group of youth volunteers of both genders. This Organization was set up to promote and work as a voluntary to the social basic needs and the development activities in Somaliland. It works in a different social basic activities. Particularly, it provide humanitarian care for the mentally sick people and the mentally Disabled people in Hargeisa - Somaliland
The higher rate of the unemployment and the impacts of the Civil wars are the main feeding issues of this stigma among the youth, and the issues that are the mostly faced youth and to the better and cured ones whose are leaving from the Horizon Mental Care Centers and who are ready to be back to the community and their normal life. Most of them are living homeless, Careless and luck of the general basic needs in the streets, these mentally sick people are also risk to themselves and the others.
The project will guarantee to reduce this stigma and make up the lives of the mentally ill people to have a better lives so that this project is expected to reduce of this problem and make up the lives of the Mentally sick people. This project will also create a new vision for their future and will plan a short and long term policies focusing to the target group.
The Long term of this project will make up the lives of 70/ Mentally Sick People and this program will produce new generations in the long term, by the expert of our volunteer group it also plan the long term strategies of the targeted group. It also plans the skill creation and the job creation the mentally recovered people which will help them improve their living standards, rise out of poverty, and put back to their community in the future. They will be fulfilling their mission and dreams.
