For the first time in one hundren and twenty years, Manila village has never seen clean water. Women and children used to walk more than twenty four kilometers to fetch less than five gallons. Those incapable to walk this far were depending on seasons ponds with dirty water shared between humans and animals.
The Manila water project has brought a relief and a big impact to the lives of the people. Children will be getting a chance to go to school. Women will be having time to engage in other economic activities. Above waterborne illness will be significantly reduced if not eliminated. They are now walking less than five minutes to fetch, clean and safe drinking water
