Summary

We fear that the Palestinian Village of Susiya will be demolished before their petition is heard by Israel's High Court. The children of Susiya are making Pinwheels for Peace, as peacemakers stay in the village 24/7 and diplomats visit daily. In 2008, US Senators & Representatives intervened at their constituents' request to keep another Palestinian village standing - let's do it again. Help open a 'Human Rights Call Center' & bring Susiya's children to visit Congress on International Peace Day

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

The Israeli Army is demolishing Palestinian neighborhoods in gross violations of human rights that fuel extremism worldwide. The US government expresses concern without result. Citizens who care about human rights feel it hopeless to engage their Senators & Representatives to keep Palestinian villages standing, not realizing that their calls make a difference. Here's why:Congress promises "to intervene on behalf of constituents who need assistance with ANY urgent issue before a federal agency"

How will this project solve this problem?

Susiya's future IS an urgent matter - so ask Congress members to call the State Dept. and to call the Israeli Embassy. When Members of Congress, as friends of Israel, say, 'I Care About Peace, I Care About Susiya' and urge the Government of Israel to recognize Susiya's master plan, they'll give Susiya a future. Please give to open a Human Rights Call Center to ask thousands to call their Senators and Reps, and coach them. Give to bring Susiya's children to Congress on Intnl. Peace Day, Sep. 21st

Potential Long Term Impact

On their Pinwheels for Peace, children write what peace means and draw what it looks like. When adults pay attention, it can be life-changing. As parents, teachers, people of all backgrounds and faiths take responsibility, they'll press elected officials and peacemakers on the ground to keep all families - including Palestinian families - safe in their homes, children in their schools, villages standing. Congress will recognize Palestinian town planning & building permits, and Israel will too.
