Chamber Music Northwest brings some of the world's finest classical music artists ("Olympians of the small muscles") to inspire and educate audiences through world-class concerts of diverse music.
Our challenge is dealing with an aging audience for our concerts, and the need to attract and interest younger audience members in order to fulfill our artistic and community mission. We exist to provide inspiring, exciting and virtuosic performances of a body of 300 years of extraordinary chamber music, for the cultural enrichment of audiences that span various age- and socioeconomic-groups.
We have found that we can accomplish our audience building goals by presenting accessible concerts in accessible venues with our outstanding younger artists (our Proteges, in their mid-20s), performing more eclectic music.
Succeeding in our efforts will help us keep our artform of chamber music vital and relevant for future generations of audiences, and inspiring others to study and perform. Such experiences are personal, intimate, authentic, and highly positive.
This was the best assembly in all these years at Marysville...I love music most of all, more than soccer or basketball or anything like that...If I were famous I would play all the instruments you do.
