The last few month have seen some very exciting new changes at the Home.
80% of the targets for the month of january and february have been met and that is remarkable progress! The boys have started yoga with their yoga teacher. They love the stretching and the posing, they say they feel much more calm and relaxed.Vocational training was also done for the boys to find out their capabilities and train them with essential skills. Rehablitation was done on the severely profound kids with certain motor skill activities which turned out to be a great success. some the kids are actually able to catch a ball, throw it at trace the path. Physiotheraphy was another important actvity which has been started with 8 of the boys. Significant changes were seen in the kids with these activities and the year looks very promising with lots more to go.
12% of the boys in the home underwent yoga treatment of which good results were seen in atleast 3-4% of them. 12% went through physiotherapy and rehabilatation. 30 of the boys went through lice treatment. We are seeing great progress with the kids in different aspects of their life such as concentration, motor skills and personal hygene.
Gopal and Prakasha were two of the boys undergoing yoga treatment. During the activities conducted every sunday we heard from the volunteers that there were profound changes in the way they were able to concentrate on the activities. They have also developed a certain love for learning and sit longer time for the activities without getting distracted.
