Summary
This project will provide domestic violence survivors and their children gifts during the holidays, as well as resources to meet their basic needs throughout the year.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
Domestic violence has continued to be an epidemic in our community and last year alone we lost 39 women and children in Oregon due to dv related homicides. Survivors need access to emergency shelter to stay safe and also the advocacy, support, and education provided within the shelter system.
How will this project solve this problem?
This project will not only provide for magical Holidays but will also support our services throughout the year such as life saving medication, personal identification, birth certificates for her children, or formula for a baby.
Potential Long Term Impact
Financial contributions will be used to support our emergency shelter providing greater access to survivors, providing gifts around the Holidays, and resources for basic needs throughout the year impacting nearly 200 women and children yearly.
