This project will build the HODI Peace Center in Marsabit County in Northern Kenya, providing over 1000 children armed with guns and hatred for other tribes as a neutral safe space where Football replaces the gun, battle field is replaced by Peace Field, while the Peace Ambassadors replace fierce warriors.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
There are currently more than 3000 families diplaced by the ongoing clashes with the recent deaths increasing. The youths are used and misused to keep the clashes from never coming to the envisaged end. The project will benefit over 1000 children armed with guns and hatred for other tribes as a neutral safe space where Football replaces the gun, battle field is replaced by Peace Field, while the Peace Ambassadors replace fierce warriors. Also a safe space for young girls rescued from marriages.
How will this project solve this problem?
HODI Provides training in football skills helping warriors learn how to shoot to score goals instead of killing. The project will help provide safe space for training young peace ambassadors for peaceful coexistence and safe space for rescued girls.
Potential Long Term Impact
The Project will transform through football for peace 800 young warriours to peace ambassadors helping the communities in the marsabit coexist peacefully. While 200 champion girls will be rescued from forced marriages and provided with education and life skills training.
