Bart Weetjens - Founder
Bart initiated the idea to train rats as an appropriate technology to detect landmines and to screen for tuberculosis. With his years of experience as a product design and development engineer, Bart founded APOPO with support from Professor Mic Billet and his colleagues at Antwerp University.
Christophe Cox - CEO
Christophe leads APOPO's team, with many years of management experience in East Africa. Christophe has a Master of Science in Product Development & Development Sciences, and developed many of APOPO's technical realizations.
Havard Bach - Head of Operations, Mine Action & Human Security
Havard Bach joined APOPO in June 2010 as our Head of Operations. Prior to that, he worked closely with APOPO for 11 years as the Head of Operational Methods at the Geneva International Centre for Humanitarian Demining (GICHD). One of Havard's core responsibilities with GICHD was the development of 'land release' concepts & he is working to develop these concepts into field applications with APOPO.
