What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
At a time when humanity faces some of its most pressing social, economic and environmental issues it is critical to bring together a multi-sector, interdisciplinary partnership for development that can harness the unique strength of each citizen, business and organization to co-create our sustainable future - this is The Global Summit. In this high-energy, forward thinking arena, it is essential that youth are represented and given a means through which they can speak and be heard as equals.
How will this project solve this problem?
This project will provide a dedicated youth platform at The Global Summit 2012 through which 30 of the most dedicated, innovative and creative-thinking youth leaders from around the world can unite. In the 3-day youth congress before TGS, youth leaders will have the opportunity to connect, share and develop their voice and message. Throughout TGS, the Youth Hub will provide a dedicated space for youth to engage in deep, open dialogue with some of the Summit's keynote speakers and presenters.
Potential Long Term Impact
A biennial event, The Global Summit provides a nexus between diverse public, private and civil society sectors to create a space where collaboration thrives and innovation happens. For the youth that are able to attend TGS, this experience will be invaluable for them, for their projects and for all citizens. Making new contacts, driving new solutions. Today's youth are tomorrow's leaders, and we need leaders who are connected, created, inspired and capable of driving change 365 days a year.
