Women and the Horn of Africa Crisis
As the world focused on political battles in Washington, a devastating humanitarian crisis erupted, claiming thousands of lives in the Eastern Horn of Africa, with Somalia suffering the worst impacts of the drought-induced famine. As in almost all crises, women are disproportionately impacted: from sexual violence in the overcrowded and chaotic camps, to the struggle to feed their children. Your support has helped Women Thrive to 1) highlight timely world issues and 2) continue to push Congress to ensure that our international assistance dollars go toward creating long-term solutions that invest in women so we can prevent future catastrophic food shortages.
Thanks again for your support!
