Top O' the Mornin!
Move For Hunger is off to a great start for 2012. Ever since the NBC American Giving Awards, we've had tons of young people reach out to us wanting to hold food drives. We figured if there were young people out there willing to fight hunger in their communities, we should be helping them!
A few months ago, two little girls from Monroe, NC, reached out to us wanting to get involved. At that time, Move For Hunger didn't have a mover in that area. These 10 year olds took it upon themselves to call all the moving companies in their area to get some involved. They did just that! We then received a phone call - "Alright, we got you movers, can we hold a food drive at our school?" We did them one better. Our local moving partner donated a truck for a day, and we got permission from a local grocery store to stage the truck outside for the day. We sent t-shirts, fliers, banners, and sent out press releases. The end result:
These little girls collected 6,000 lbs of food in one day for their local food pantry. It was incredible!

Thank you for your continued support! We couldn't do what we do without donors like you! We're looking forward to a great 2012!
Thank you for your generosity and support this year. It's been an amazing one! In under 3 years, we've collected nearly 400,000 lbs of food for food banks and pantries across the country. We have some BIG things planned for 2012. Please continue to visit our website and let people know our young organization exists. We couldn't do what we do without your support!
On behalf of our entire team - THANK YOU!
Hope everyone is doing well! We wanted to update you on all the cool stuff we've been up to over the past few months. Last we chatted, we were just on the VH1 Do Something Awards where we were able to tell the world about our hunger relief efforts. This was an incredible experience, and we were honored to be nominated among the other organizations!
We've been so busy since then. As of today, we are just 2 moving companies away from hitting 200! That's 200 movers going out every day asking their customers for their unopened, non-perishables and making a difference in the communities they serve. Together, we have delivered over 350,000 lbs of food to food banks across the country. Oh, and we're not even 3 years old yet!!
We could not do what we do without the support of our generous partners and donors. You guys help us do great things, and we can't thank you enough for your passion for our cause.
You'll be hearing from us again soon. We've been chosen as 1 of 5 organizations up for a MILLION dollars on the Chase American Giving Awards. This will be aired on NBC in December, and we're really going to need your help in getting out the vote. We got an AWESOME endoresment in the first round of voting: BRUCE SPRINGSTEEN! That's right! The Boss loves Move For Hunger! Check us out on his website!
If you're interested in joining our street team, please email Jason@moveforhunger.org, and he'll get you set up. And if you haven't done so already, LIKE us on Facebook!
Thank you all gain for being ridiculously amazing! Please stay tuned for more hunger updates!

The award show will air on VH1 on August 18 and it gives us the chance to shine a light on all the good our family of movers has done over the past few years. We are the only Hunger Relief organization in the running for the award.
With your help we can take home the top-prize, that includes a $100,000 grant and the ability to bring more awareness to the ever growing need throughout our country.

Since 2009, Move For Hunger has worked with moving companies to deliver over 325,000 lbs of food to food banks across America. We could never have made it to where we are today without your continued support, and we look forward to bringing more awareness to America's hunger fight.
On behalf of Move For Hunger, I would like to thank each and every one of you for your generous donations during Global Giving's Open Challenge. Your support has earned us a permanent spot on this amazing fundraising website and eliminated the costs associated with our prior fundraising site (A total savings of over $300 per year!)
Over the past few months, we have been hard at work to shed more light on the growing problem of hunger in this country. Through a recent grant with Ford Motor Company, Move For Hunger's executive director was able to take a 28 day, 9,000 mile road trip across America. During this journey, he visited food banks, movers, and other people looking to get involved in our hunger relief efforts. You can watch some videos from the trip at www.MoveForHungerEvents.org
During the spring, we set up a mulitude of Gold's Gym Food Drives across the country. Our movers generously provided boxes and transportation services for the event. While we still have one more going for the month of May, Move For Hunger was able to collect over 1,200 lbs of food during these drives. That's enough to provide over 960 meals to those in need!
We have tons more planned for 2011, and I can't thank you enough for your continued support. Your donations make a HUGE impact to our cause. Please continue spread the word about our growing organization. If you haven't done so already, please follow us on our Facebook & Twitter pages to keep up with our activity on a daily basis. We haven't quite been around for 3 years yet, but we're already approaching 200,000 lbs of food collected. Thank you again to all of our donors, movers, food banks, and partners who continue to support Move For Hunger. We'll be checking back soon!
