Weaving

By a female, 22-30 years old, in Nairobi, Kenya
Map of WEAVING Weaving is a project I started like 2 years ago when some chinese people were so impressed by a simple weave that I made some days back. They asked me where I told them I made it my myself. Then is when I decided to start the business because the chinese demanded the weaves in large quantities. I looked for a loan from relatives and I started the business on a low level and it was very stranious because I worked alone. When I sold my first pieces, I got money to expand my business and I employed ten people. Now the business has prospered and I have over twenty workers and I have opened a weaving scholl which gives knowledge to slum dwellers to be self dependant. I thank God for this opportunity he has offered me to help others and I wish that I will expand even more. Read more.
