Blindness is a misfortune in itself but childhood blindness is a bigger tragedy . Seeing a child live in darkness & destitution for all the no. of years ahead is heartbreaking. We at LRBT are fighting blindness and restoring vision of the poor blind children, however, we can't do it alone. We need your support & your donations to help the blind children see the wondrous colors of life and fulfill their dreams. One child surgery costs Rs $ 73, probably less than what you'd spend on a dinner.
Over 2.5 million children in Pakistan suffer from Blindness or severe Visual Impairment due to which they are dependent on others and can't reach their potential. Upon growing up they are a burden on their families and the society as their chances of being employed are slim at best. Access to basic education is also limited. Sponsoring their surgeries would not only restore their vision but change their lives turning them from dependent to independent income generating individuals of the society
Restoring vision of these poor blind children would open up unlimited opportunities for these underprivileged children as they can study, perform their daily chores without support and become productive upon growing up. They can lead a normal life, get married and support their families instead of becoming a burden on their parents & siblings.
When there is a blind child in the family the members also become less productive as they need to give extra time to the child owing to his blindness. Restoring his vision also makes a difference in their lives as they become more productive.
