Disabled adults flourish in a work training environment where they learn job skills, earn wages and develop friendships within their community. Many do not receive funding and can not attend.
Many people with disabilities will never have the opportunity to attend work training programs where they can interact with others, earn wages, and become more independant. Their days will be spent in front of a TV without interaction with others. When DD adults attend the day programs at TVW, they make friends and learn job skills and gain self esteem. Their negative behaviors dimish as they learn socialization and have a routine in their life.
By helping fund one person to attend the workshop you can be guaranteed that it will be a life changing experience for them. They will grow as individuals and feel a sense of purpose and well being as they learn new skills and interact with others.
Humans have a need to belong to a group and feel proud and a part of something bigger. They in turn are then able to give back to the comunity through volunteerism and spending their disposable income.
