Help Over 50 Ghanaian Women Develop a Business

Daasgift Quality Foundation (DQF) wants to buy land for a palm kernel oil production community in Takoradi, Ghana to stabilize their business.

What is the issue, problem, or challenge?

A community of entrepreneurial women near Takoradi, Ghana produce palm kernel oil on environmentally friendly smokeless stoves. They had previously worked on free land but now have to buy their own. Your donation will allow the women to continue to work and support their families. The women will secure funding to build a storage shed and washhouse on the land.

How will this project solve this problem?

The women need permanent land to be able to produce enough palm kernel oil to generate enough income to support their families. They have spent much of the last year trying to secure land, hindering business development.

Potential Long Term Impact

Palm kernel oil production allows the women to generate income, support their families and pay school fees. Owning their own land will increase production because they will not have to spend time meeting with groups to help fund land.
