Map of HORTICULTURAL FARMING Horticulture or market is the growth of flowers vegetables and fruits for sale. The growing of flowers is called horticultan horticultural farms are small and carefully cultivated this is because the land is very available and farmers to make maximum use of it. the farmers specialist in growing one main crop, say vegetables, fowers or fruits. commercial horticultural farms. generally require alot of money to set up this because the crops grown are delicate. sometimes farmers have to build green houses to protect them from severe weather conditions. They also hire many people to work on their farms because horticultural farming rarely uses machinery. Read more.

Causes Of Food Shortages

Map of CAUSES OF FOOD SHORTAGES Causes of food shortage in our neighbourhood village can be attributed to factors such as the rate of population growth, poor land use and agricultural practises, the adverse weather conditions such as floods and long periods of drought, lack of funds to purchase required farm inputs, rural-urban migration and poor and inadequate storage facilities. All these problems can be hindered by the following; more land should be brought under irrigation and some of the waste and marshy marshy land be reclaimed, farmers need to be educated on how to control diseases and pests and on better storage practises. Drought

Map of drought After the lanina season,many farmers were crying for help.This was because most of the crops where dying/have died up.Mellenium development became the farmers messiah.The organization came up with different farming technique to fight the drought and let the crops grow.The technique were like providing pumps for irrigation,mulching and even growing drought resistant crops like cassava.this helped the people alot and even encouraged them to go on with their farming activities. "farmers Finally Get A Hand"

Map of "Farmers finally get a hand" When one day I visited my grandparents in the village i was so pleased to hear them that the government through its programme such as National Agriculture Advisory Services has helped them in the agricultural productivity by providing them some garden tools like hoes, wheel barrows, rakes, improved seed for planting such as maize, beans, cassava stems and even pesticides for spraying and killing the pests which affect their crops. This has greatly increased on the agricultural output (productivity) of many ugandans which in turn give them alot, sell of the surplus and get money used in the purchasing of other essential needs thereby improving and changing their lives; Thank you. Promoting Vanilla Growing As A Tour Curb Poverty

Map of PROMOTING VANILLA GROWING AS A TOUR CURB POVERTY Pour vanilla growing in Kyanjojo district had been subjected to the poor quality vanilla cuttings/ seed in that farmers were growing cultivating into low vanilla yields hence lowering farmers incomes leaving to untold poverty. PAT an agricultural extension un conditional grant prowred and distributed 150000 vanilla vines to different sub counties for multiplication purposes hence promoting vanilla standards. Read more.

Drought

Map of Drought Farmers grow their crops but they achieve nothing because their plantation wilt because there is no rain for the crops to grow well. And that force them to buy machine for irrigation. Some farmers manage to buy pumps and some fail to buy because some pumping machines are expensive and need alot of money. Those who have a large plantation need help from the government to buy for them such machine to use during dried period. Last year the government planned to spend money to buy pumping machine but they failed to fulfill the pledge they made there before and this lead the increase of items such us sugar, the cost of maize flour and other thing needed by human being.
