CREATA seeks to reduce vulnerability of 500 girls and boys in Migori County to domestic violence, sexual abuse and endemic poverty through education and sports.
Nyanza is ranked as one of the poorest regions in Kenya despite its resources. Endemic poverty, domestic violence and discrimination against women has reduced many families to begging & handouts. The problem is compounded by rampant HIV/AIDS, suppressive cultural beliefs and clan based conflicts. The new constitution yet to be implemented provides better opportunity for children, women and youths. This project will improve education and prepare 5000 youths and women for leadership and governance
CREATA organizes sports academies for children and youths to develop talents, acquire education and leadership skills. CREATA offers scholarship and training on value based sports, leadership and conflict transformation to children and youth
The project will realize 60 youth sports academies across Migori County and 300 children continuing with school and 500 empowered youths and women leaders confronting all forms of discrimination against women and promoting peace and development
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
