To allow 25 year old Michal, a talented young artist from a low income family, to fulfill her dream of spending six months as an exchange student at the prestigious School of Art at Cooper Union, NY.
Michal Abraham is a 25 year old third year art student studying at the prestigious Bezalel Academy of Art and Design in Jerusalem. She grew up as the oldest of 6 children in the development town of Kiryat Malachi in Southern Israel where her family resides since their arrival from Ethiopia about 25 years ago. The father works as a bus driver and the mother works in a part time position. Due to the difficult economic situation at home, Michal's dream can only become a reality through your help.
Your assistance will allow Michal to pay her exchange program costs that include a two way flight ticket, medical insurance, living expenses (such as food & transportation), student dormitory fees and art supplies. She has also taken out a bank loan.
This international student exchange experience will allow Michal to become a prominent video artist, thus becoming a positive role model for her community, surroundings and family. She will inspire others to achieve and escape the cycle of poverty.
