APROSADSE is facing some difficulties with their garden projects due to lack of continuous access to water, but the organization is continuing to provide training and educational programs to local communities in spite of the hardships so that long-term these projects are a success.
Your donations have helped to strengthen objectives for agro-ecology promoters and make improvements to the training involved to become certified. The process is now more rigid as participants must participate in workshops, conduct community practices and receive an evaluation at the end of the training before becoming officially certified.
Here is just one story of your donations at work:
Juan Carlos Enrique Jichá Cumatzil is a 14 year old with a deep interest in veterinary health and agro-ecology. His goal is to complete a technical career in five years and dedicate himself to improving his chicken-raising and other livestock rearing practices, and agriculture projects. This young man stood out in the first round of promoters under the new certification process.
With the help of teachers from APROSADSE, Carlos was able to finish his first year of middle school and complete all the requirements to obtain certification despite having to work all day in the agricultural fields and take care of his animals and gardens at home.
Because of this training, Juan Carlos is able to support the needs of his mother and 6 siblings and has become an active community leader working to improve the livelihood of the members of his community.
Carlos is a promising young man whose access to training and education has been made possible thanks to generous supporters like you!
