Project Personnel

Herbert Ford - Communications Person

Mr. Ford directs the Pitcairn Islands Study Center which is in contact with Pitcairn several times each week. He will receive regular, frequent reports on progress of the project that will be available by telephone, e-mail, or on the Center’s web site to those interested. Direct contact with Pitcairn is usually very difficult so this U.S. contact will be helpful.

Jay Calvin Warren - Project Manager

As mayor of Pitcairn Island Mr. Warren will serve as on-site director of the boat shed construction project. He is the top governmental official on the island, and has the respect of all Pitcairners due to his leadership in many island activities.

Mike Warren - Second Project Manager

Mike Warren serves as chairman of the Pitcairn Island Council, the on-island governing body, and is in charge of handling electronic equipment for Pitcairn, which includes satellite, weather and earthquake-monitoring equipment. The name Warren is associated with the descendants of the mutineers on H.M.S. Bounty since the mid-1800s. He is one of the most respected men on remote Pitcairn Island.
