Same Language Subtitling (SLS) recommends subtitling the lyrics of all film song programs on TV, nationally, in the “same” language as the audio. A decade of research has proven that this Karaoke approach to literacy improves the reading skills of millions of viewers. Cost: $1 (the price of a cup of coffee) gives 10,000 people reading practice for one whole year!
