Mumias being the village when i was born and raised is characterised with huge tracts of land covered with sugarcane plantations. These has been the scenario ever since before as every one planted came to supply the sugar mills with today people have slowly wedged out of that type of farming and taking up more eloquent and fast growing crops planted instead. Individual's have realised that can which takes long to mature has left them poor since its pays very little also. People have left pieces of land to plant vegetables and other crops for food (daily) who reduced over dependance and poverty. Read more.
