The PEP Program is Thriving

The Afghan Institute of Learning’s Pre-School Education Program (PEP) is very busy working with young children to introduce them to the classroom setting and a variety of subjects.  They are taught beginning skills in Arabic, Dari, English, Math, and Health.  Upon completion of the PEP program, the children have learned to recognize letters of the alphabet, numbers, and colors.  The teachers use stories, drawing, pasting, cutting, coloring and music in their curriculum.  Within the last few months, seven additional teachers were hired for PEP.

Please keep in mind that Wednesday, March 14, 2012 is Bonus Day through GlobalGiving.  Donations up to $1,000.00 will be provided with a 30% match.  The bonus allotment is $50,000.00 and the period runs from 12:01 AM EST until the funds are exhausted.  So, if you would like your donation to go a little further with the help of GlobalGiving, give early on March 14th.  Thank you!
