Provide entrepreneurial training and opportunities for youth in the Lushoto District, enabling them to plan for, develop, and manage sustainable, environmentally-oriented businesses.
Lushoto is a rural, agricultural district with a 3:1 ratio of women to men, as men continue to leave due to a shortage of formal employment and over-populated land. Women and youth remain with limited economic opportunities and tumultuous family and community environments. By providing local youth with entrepreneurial training emphasizing sustainability, and with the tools to continue learning, the youth will be able to build new businesses and reverse these dangerous trends for their community.
We provide eco-enterprise training with experiential-learning curricula that can be reused by youth leaders for ongoing, sustainable eco-business development. Youth learn business and leadership skills and how to develop sustainable business plans.
The project will provide youth with the skills to develop their own sustainable businesses, increasing incomes and job opportunities in Lushoto, and helping to build an environmentally sustainable local economy.
