MFH is run by men renewing their responsibility as the head of the household. We give orphaned children security in a home environment, helping them reach their full potential and be good citizens.
There is an drastic increase in innocent young children left as orphans or vulnerable resulting from consequences of the HIV/AIDS pandemic on them and their families.“Child headed households” are becoming common. Their parents are either dead or too sick to care for the children and the responsibility of running the home lies on the eldest child often as young as 8 up to 17. To meet the needs of their families many of these children are turning to crime, drug peddling and prostitution.
My Father's House initiative run by men renewing their responsibility as the head of the household, will take in OVC's from the age of 8 to 13 years old, giving them security in a home environment, assisting them in reaching their full potentials.
When this project is up and running, we will have provided at least 200 children a solid foundation on which they can become responsible, successful citizens. These beneficiaries will become role models for more vulnerable innocents.
This project has provided additional documentation in a Microsoft Word file (projdoc.doc).
