Dear Friends of Kenya Connect!
Thank you for your donation to Kenya Connect’s Green Community Resource Center in Wamunyu, Kenya. As a result of the generosity of 376 donors, Kenya Connect secured $5,300 in bonus grants – the highest amount possible – in the Global Giving challenge!
The Kenya Connect team has been profoundly moved by the extraordinary show of support from family, friends and former strangers. In this month-long challenge, people have contributed $27,000 – almost half the necessary $60,000 making it possible to begin construction on the community center right away. Excitement in the Wamunyu area is so high, schools and individuals in Wamunyu are already committing to helping with the construction of the center by making bricks and gathering building materials.
Close to 100 of the gifts made to the challenge were from our partner schools’ Headmasters and members of the community. They are thrilled at the thought of a Resource Center with a library and computers and deeply appreciative of your donation.
We look forward to continue sharing the progress of the center with you over the coming months. Updates will be sent through our postings on Global Giving as well as the Kenya Connect newsletter which provides reports on all the partner school projects that continue to connect children around the world. If you are not already receiving the newsletter and would like to, please visit the Kenya Connect website (www.kenyaconnect.org)to sign-up.

Project Reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you will get an e-mail when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports via e-mail without donating or by subscribing to this project's RSS feed.
Combined with other sources of funding, this project raised enough money to fund the outlined activities and is no longer accepting donations.
