EarthShare Oregon is ramping up for more than 100 giving campaigns at Oregon businesses – reaching more than 150,000 Oregonians. If you work for one of our business partners, you can give at work (or through GlobalGiving if you work at Nike or work for a small business.)
The work we do ensures that, for our donors, every dollar donated through EarthShare benefits nonprofits that are doing their work and doing it responsibly. We scrutinize their financial information, audits and stories about current projects to confirm that donors' dollars are making positive environmental change in Oregon and around the world.
Here are some new accomplishments by EarthShare Oregon members, made possible by our donors:
Renewable Northwest Project added 400 megawatts (MWs) of renewable power resources to the Northwest in 2010. The region now has more than 5,100 MWs of wind, solar and geothermal – enough energy to power 1.1 million average Northwest homes.
World Wildlife Fund Protected over 30 million acres of new areas in the Democratic Republic of Congo. This area, roughly the size of Greece, will provide vital habitat for species like African Elephants and Mountain Gorillas.
Willamette Riverkeeper monitored Willamette River water quality every month at 47 sites between Eugene and Portland. Last year, volunteers logged a total of 1,200 hours to ensure healthy river water quality using testing protocols approved by Oregon Department of Environmental Quality.
Thank you for giving through EarthShare -- your gift supports 70 charities like these that are keeping people healthy, protecting places for wildlife, and reducing global warming, both in Oregon and across the globe.

Project reports on GlobalGiving are posted directly to globalgiving.org by Project Leaders as they are completed, generally every 3-4 months. To protect the integrity of these documents, GlobalGiving does not alter them; therefore you may find some language or formatting issues.
If you donate to this project or have donated to this project, you can receive an email when this project posts a report. You can also subscribe for reports without donating.
