Although everybody has a choice to start any business of his will. Some businesses are more destructive and other building. Mrs Otieno decide to put up a brewing business in his estate, she made all efforts to make her business succeed. All the youths were now attracted with Mrs Otieno's business, they could now spend all the day drinking at this place. even others could be found early in the morning lying beside the road seeming they have spend the night there. This went on until there's no development in the village, even the rare opportunities found to employ the youths passed on without anybody intending to apply. it was only through the efforts of the area that the business was closed and Mrs Otieno summoned.

Many people in Kadenge area depended so much on farming and fishing which did not do well. The fished small fishes and sell them to different parts of Siaya district. When Dominion farm reached the place, many things changed. People were employed to the farm as Guards, drivers and chairmen. Some also became secretaries and clerks. Business flourished in the region and even a health centre and a police post was built.
