We at Thabyay Education Network would like to say a massive thank you to those who have supported our latest project 'Help 200 students from Burma study for university' on GlobalGiving.
Thanks to all your kind support, we've now raised a total of $3,413 for this great project. This money has gone directly into helping our students with university preparation enabling them to study at universities across Asia and gain the skills needed to improve the poor state of public services in their communities and in Burma as a whole.
Pe Myint is one example of a student that is benefiting greatly from your kind support. During the day, she volunteers for a health organization on the Thai- Burma border, doing important health research on alcohol abuse by migrants in the border region. In the evenings, she attends our exam preparation course. Thanks to our exam preparation course, Pe Myint now has the skills required to apply for a public health degree at Mahidol University in Bangkok, Thailand.
There are of course, many other students like Pe Myint whose dreams are made reality as a result of your support for this project.
We have many exciting plans for this year. These include building a website for our fundraising advocates, building networks of fundraising partnerships across the UK and USA and three bonus day campaigns.
The next bonus day is on March 14th 2012 - all donations to this project via www.globalgiving.org will be matched by 30%! We would be delighted if you could share this date with your friends, family and colleagues and help us to encourage more kind people to support this project.
With our best wishes,
Thabyay Education Network
