We at Thabyay Education Network would like to express our gratitude to those who have supported our latest project 'Help 200 students from Burma study for university' on GlobalGiving.
As of October 2011, we need to raise another $39,955 in order to meet our targets. It is crucial that we meet this target to aid the academic development of students from marginalized communities with poor access to education across Burma. Providing help with university preparation will not only allow our students to receive a quality university education but in the longer run, it will also help foster positive change in Burma.
Aung Moe is one of our current students who has been working hard to prepare for university. In addition to her studies, she is doing an internship with a health organization on the Myanmar border to gain some valuable work experience. Thanks to our exam preparation course, Aung will have the academic skills required to apply for a scholarship to study public health at a university in Bangkok. Aung is just one of many ambitious students whose dreams are made reality as a result of your support for this project.
At present, we have a number of our volunteer alumni who are actively organizing events in universities and community centers to raise money for this project. We hope that these efforts will help us move closer towards meeting our targets. We are most grateful for even the smallest contributions as even US$10 can help support study material costs and transportation costs. We thank you once again for supporting us. If you have any questions about the project, or about our work, please do get in touch.
Don't forget, October the 19th is bonus day- all donations to this project via www.globalgiving.org will be matched by 30%!
With our best wishes,
Thabyay Education Network
