We will visit homeless shelters in the San Francisco Bay area of California empowering people through artistic self expression. We also show the art work and a documentary film at events in the area
To shift public perceptions of homelessness and of the people who are homeless from helplessness and hopelessness to appreciation, compassion and connection. This shift is a necessary precursor to real social change and the beginning of a new paradigm for human beings that values who we are more than what we have
1) Art workshops conducted by art therapists and art professionals. 2) Recording and editing original music with our portable studio. 3) Filming the activities at the shelters. 4) Art shows, film screenings and public events 5) Selling art and music.
Social alienation will be diminished and conflicts will be reduced. Acceptance and inclusion of homeless people in our society will grow as people come to see themselves and their own humanity in homeless people. Real solutions will then be possible.
