Providing Free Health Services And Education

Map of Providing free health services and education SEMREP is an NGO based in Western province,part of Kenya.In full it is defined as Serve Education Medication and Relief Program.Throughout my home area,an exercise carried out by this organization saw many faces smiling.One three occasions within last year,they exhibited an event which saw people access free medical services.They had hired professional doctors and they were the ones accessing those medical services.Those suffering from Malaria,Tuberculosis,water bone diseases got treated.Many people from my area really benefited from that program which also saw many medicines being administered to patients.Also sometime last year,they launched a initiative to ensure poor students are able to get high school education.From then to date,they have been paying school fees for bright but poor students who find it difficult to got school fees. Ensuring Proper Sanitation

Map of Ensuring proper sanitation Community health workers for mwera sublocation are doping a commendable job in the community on matters related to health.It started last year and has been ensuring that sanitation in the community is up to date This initiative which is the government sponsored aims at raising the awareness among people in the community through continous training.There are on going training programmes for these workers across the district in Kakamega North District who in turn will be monitoring sanitation conditions as they advise people on how to improve. Orphans And Vulnerable Children

Map of Orphans and vulnerable children Most children have been left homeless,some orphaned maybe because their parents suffered from a certain diseases while others left abandoned in our streets.They all are our children and we see them left helpless in our estates and slums. All these kids in one way or another especially those with no homes are referred to as orphans and vulnerable kids and they both have the same rights as other kids rights to live,to eat,to education,to shelter among others. The Kenya Network of people living with AIDS then conducted a survey to count and identify the number of orphans and vulnerable kids.Thier purpose mainly was to get the correct statistical figure and appeal to all well wishers of how many people need their rescue. Through out the survey they also created employment for those that took part in the statistics because most of them had come from mathare. Read more.

Map of HIV-AIDs testing My name is joel.Iam HIV-AIDs positive am a member of Mavuno women group.We are a membership of 10 women who come together because of doing activities and supporting one another.We were once abandoned in the society.But because of the activities we are doing even the recognizes us.Normally when we have cases of HIV-AIDs we are called upon to help because we have trained as community health workers.Both members ere encouraged by a.c.B.o serving in town.We are selling eggs in town and earning a living though that business other Bodies support us also. I am gratefull to the work done when the Government through the Ministry of Health trained Community Health Workers Mumbering to 53.I was one among those who trained in between January through September 1992.This followed by the community Health workers coming up with an idea to start SHIKUNGA VOLUNTEER COUNCELLING AND TESTING SELF HELP GROUP.The Training have helped my community work towards prevention of HIV/AIDS.The registered shikunga V.C.T self help Group has helped many families in making informed decisions on how to live assistence to the ovais. Map of AFIA KWA WOTE This is a group of where by community of Bulemia came up with a vission of missing health facility within the village and set up a group to work together and rejester their group and also buy a plot and build a centre to start selling isensula drug which can be available within and train community health works in a NGO of hamrefu to save the community. For the start the project started well but it ha same down fall as the village is concerned and they also need more traing so as to have more skills in health education. Read more.

A Good Samaritan

Map of A good Samaritan Women are well known for their unity and cohesiveness a when it comes to groups they organize and undertake certain activities. The emergence of women groups is an example of the longest known social groups. Most of these groups though do not know the procedures on how to make their many go round groups legal hence operating informally a case which hinders them access to certain individual from my community took it up to her and decided to assist a help women register.
