Global Sorority Part 2 takes place in India, Vietnam, and the Philippines. Our goal is to complete it this film by November 2013.
What is the issue, problem, or challenge?
It's no secret that girls need support to experience greater equality in the world. The lack of equality effects EVERYONE. Much has improved but we could stand to do more. With high rates of HIV/ AIDS, teenage pregnancies, food and human security issues, poverty and violence, something different needs to be done and we are doing it. We know that when girls have more confidence and support, lives change. This educational documentary showcases their voices, so together we can make change happen
How will this project solve this problem?
This educational documentary will touch the lives of those we work with and thousands more who will witness and partake in the discussion after. Global Sorority is a movement with a simple formula to create mass change: Provide leadership to support confidence in young women + Provide resources to learn + Provide a platform to share ideas+ Start discussions with all, for change= Global Movement for girls to live out their full potential. Without internal leadership there is no external change
Potential Long Term Impact
- Over 60 young women between the ages of 11-30 will receive life changing leadership development training, sustainable menstrual pads and an opportunity to have their voice heard and celebrated. -This educational film will be used to create life long learning across North America - Every person who participates in our screenings sessions creates a ripple chain effect in the world
