Planning Your Life Series is the heart of Seed of Hope Foundation. It is an intensive course in which students participate in a discovery process to identify their goals, brainstorm with other students, visit small businesses in the community, learn about finances, business etiquette, business planning and self-esteem, and create a solid action plan. The program ends with a presentation by each student of their goals to family, friends, community persons, & Seed of Hope Board Members.
There is a substantial lack of programs and resources designed specifically for suburban youth who have fallen through the cracks. In Westchester's Elementary School District 92-5, the % of low-income students rose from 3.1% in 2000 to 11.1% in 2010. Moreover, when economically disadvantaged students fail to exceed on the level of their peers, there are few resources, outside of costly private tutoring services, that might enable them to catch up.
Our workshop specifically (but not exclusively) targets these, often overlooked, young women. Throughout this highly individualized, intense, & interactive program, participants will be directly involved in the process of cultivating a business, nonprofit idea or identifying their chosen sphere of influence to pursue in college and life (math, science, leadership, business, etc.) - from the seed stage to the blossoming. They will develop and walk away with a plan of action.
Break the cycle and start our children off knowing exactly what they were born to do. Give young girls a reason (vision) to finish high school and go to college or into their chosen careers on Purpose and in Purpose. Together, we will be able to help many families and individuals live fulfilling and meaningful lives and save time and money. We can help each child achieve something significant and impact their generation by reducing poverty, unemployment, and broken homes and families.
